Department of Economics

The Economics Department of Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis Mahavidyalaya was established on 1965-66.Only general courses are introduced at that time to teach economics for the students of commerce. The Honors Course was introduced in 2002-03.

In the central library many books of economics for honors and general courses are available.

Besides the traditional method the department undertakes class counseling with ICT techniques. It is an important method to assist the weak students.

Academic guidance is provided to economically and socially backward students at free of cost.

Remedial classes are taken to assist the students after selection test

Academic and personal counseling of the students are done regularly.

Economics department have collection of good books in library.

Installation of computer in the department.

Providing the facility of seminar library to all students.
